L'œuvre commune
In a work, there is the expected encounter between three commitments or three postures of the artist. First, there is always a question of autobiography. The works start from a territory: the artist, the territory of intimacy. Then there is the question of commitment to the city, understood as a social, urban and political fact. Then comes the incessant, sometimes deafening, dialogue with the history of art. The artist affirms, consciously or unconsciously, his or her affiliation with a history of forms and ideas. This is the territory of memory. Since 2010, we have been working with students to initiate a dialogue between these three territories: intimacy, the other, memory.
