ART BIENNAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Veduta, within the Biennale de Lyon, is a laboratory for artistic experiments. The plot is Art History, the principal actor is reality and the stage has an urban backdrop.
The project is about creating points of convergence between the creation and the reception of art, between selective verticality – in the construction of an art history specific to museums – and the instant, intuitive horizontality of creating visible art in the city. In this osmosis between history of the city and the actuality of art there are two constants at the Biennale de Lyon. The first, which is the international exhibition, relates to the world at large; the second, which is what Veduta is about, relates to the local phenomenon – the capillary action between the city and the Biennale – and it will gradually become, as we shall see below, a permanent to-ing and fro-ing between art history and the production of visible art.
